It's a Studio apartment, in the Thuy Khue Ward of Tay Ho district, in Hanoi city. It's a very authentic Vietnamese neighborhood (meaning, not so many foreigners at all). Just the way I like it. Source: VOV TV On November 14, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) held a workshop on Public Health Priorities -- Realities and Measures for Diseases Control at the Hanoi Medical University. Dr. Thomas Frieden, Director of the CDC noted that over the past 60 years, the CDC has been working with governments and partners to address global health threats through disease prevention activities, treatment, development of labs, and epidemiological interference. Regarding the present public health threats, Dr. Thomas Frieden said that Vietnam is facing challenges such as HIV/AIDS, road accidents, and smoking related diseases. This reality requires greater activities in disease prevention and control. As for the global HIV/AIDS program, the CDC has provided Vietnam with technical support for preventive activities in HIV/AIDS treatment, strategic information, infrastructure and labs to develop a comprehensive HIV/AIDS program. Since 2006, the CDC has provided support for Vietnam's influenza monitoring system. Dr. Thomas Frieden, his co-workers, and Vietnamese health officials will discuss public health priorities and view public health activities in Vietnam. This group of specialists will study challenges to enhance the cooperation with Vietnam in key fields such as discovering diseases and coping with public health challenges to improve the quality of people's lives.
